Main Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. There are 11 campuses around the Island. Excellent library & special collections. Home of Juan Ramón Jiménez Collection. The Spanish poet lived in PR and was a professor at the UPR.

The UPR is our State sponsored University. Although there are many campuses all around the island, this review is about the Rio Piedras campus which besides being the first, it's where I studied. The Campus has very nice architecture being the original (tower complex and theater very classical. Buildings like the general library, students center and the anthropology museum were designed to get the most out of the wind without need of air conditioning. The museum holds El Velorio, the most renowned painting of Francisco Oller. The UPR theater was where Hamilton was to be presented in 2019.. Once having seen the UPR the tour can move to the UPR Botanical Garden (ten minutes drive) to be able to admire the exuberant vegetation in the site as well as the Rio Piedras Aqueduct ruins being protected by Pro Natura. The aqueduct served San Juan until the 1930's.
