Forge a Silver Ring with a Silversmith
At this time, I am requiring all guests to be fully vaccinated *and boosted* against COVID-19 by the time of their workshop and to provide proof of vaccination. In this workshop, you'll make a sterling silver ring through the silversmithing "fabrication" technique. Learn the basics of texturing metal, forming metal with mandrels and hammers, soldering (yes, you'll play with fire!), and decorative finishing and leave with a beautiful handmade ring that will last a lifetime! This is not just some craft project. You will be working on the same tools that I use myself as a professional silversmith and your ring will be professional quality. It's always a fun evening! You'll be floored by what you can create! Other things to note: You will get plenty of ideas for rings during the class. I also encourage you to look at the photos in this experience as well as guest photos for ideas!

Glassblowing: Make Your Own Pendant
Lampworking (also known as torchworking) is basically miniature glassblowing. Each student will work on their own torch to create a unique and stylish pendant. I'll explain the safety rules and show you how to make the project, then I'll help you make yours. This class is listed for a specific time, but I'll gladly schedule your session anytime upon request. Just send me a message that you want to make pendants with a preferred day/time. Other things to note: Some people don't want a pendant, and so they choose to make theirs into a zipper pull, suncatcher, or lightswitch pull. Students must be fully vaccinated against covid 19 for at least 2 weeks prior to class or show negative results from a rapid results test for covid 19 within 72 hours prior to class. Students must sign waivers. Wear natural fiber clothing (cotton) and closed toe shoes. There is a washroom where you may change, and we do sell tshirts. Ages 7+ must have guardian sign waiver if under 18. Accessible and friendly space. You can expect it to be at least 10 Degrees (F) warmer inside the studio than outside.
Chicago Food Tour- Deep Roots to Deep Dish
City in a garden. Culinary paradise. From hot dogs to haute cuisine, this walking tour of the Loop is for all foodies and anyone wishing to get to know Chicago through their stomach! The Loop is the perfect spot to experience this fast-growing food scene, where locals lunch while enjoying the city’s architecture or dining under city lights that illuminate the nearby Chicago River at night. It’s the vendors and their passion for food that we’ll focus on in this neighborhood: you’ll come to appreciate the melting pot that the city has truly become, giving us the opportunity to enjoy recipes lovingly honed by generations of immigrants. Italian, German, Polish…you’ll be amazed to discover the cultural depth behind otherwise ordinary (and tasty) Chicago staples! While your local guide will treat you to some decadent deep dish pizza and other classic Chicago favorites, they might also share a seasonal offering with the freshest ingredients, perhaps even sourced by local farms. If there’s any room for more, we’ll top off your tour with a sweet snack and send you off with more recommendations for where to eat, drink, and play in this incredible city!

Snowshoe Tour to Frozen Waterfalls
Winter in the UP is like living in a white fairy tale filled with beautiful nature scenarios and endless winter activities. Join me on a snowshoe tour through the magical winter forest to explore a frozen waterfall. This snowshoe tour is only a short drive to a private property where we will done the snowshoes. Entering the trail into the winter forest we hike a long the ridge over the river valley with beautiful scenic views. Descending toward the valley we will get a first glimpse of the falls and hear the thunder of the water. We will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful icicle formations within the falls and to take plenty of pictures. The waterfall tour is offered depending on snow, ice and current weather conditions. While I have to set a certain time of the day to start our snowshoeing experience, it sometimes might be necessary to change the time of day due to weather conditions( or upon client request). My tour is geared toward people with no snowshoeing experience and I will take great care that trails are lengthened or shortened according to ability levels.
Southern Michigan Sugar Making

We will meet at my homestead in the deep, lush forests of Northern Michigan. First, there will be an informative time and introduction to the goats and the lifestyle of keeping them. Next, we will then join the goats, on foot, as we venture out onto the surrounding trails through the forest scape . There will be time and space to observe and interact with the goats as they walk along with us, eat and browse the greenery available. As we progress down the cleared paths there will time for more Q&A, an offering of some type of storytelling, poetry, history of goats or nature wisdom transmission from Nicole to guests. There will also be at least a brief time for noble silence, a time quiet for simple reflection and enjoyment of the surrounding nature. Upon our return, we will celebrate and en~joy local and seasonal refreshments which highlight the goats contribution to humans through their delicious milk. We serve you goat milk yogurt, local fruit and honey and locally made sourdough bread with goat cheese. We sip on either hot or iced organic teas, depending on the temps outside. During this time we discuss the food and also share stories of life, guests and hosts alike.
