Ramen making with a chef
I grew up eating this style of ramen broth since I was a kid. I grew up in a country side so ramen was a comforting food that was always made at home. Ramen is such a unique Japanese food though because it is the most creative Japanese food. Every ramen shop has its own creative ramen broth and toppings. In my ramen cooking class, the most important priority is my guests can recreate this dish at their kitchen. So ingredients is quite accessible and the cooking process contains many small steps, but I want to make it as simple focused on things that are important for the best taste. I am excited to share with you my home-style Shoyu ramen soup recipe that I have created based on the recipe I grew up eating! We’ll also make gyoza with lots of cabbage and chives, then pan-fry it bottom side up! Very classic Japanese gyoza ingredients and method of cooking. I will ask everyone to use their hands to chop, form gyoza, and present the dishes we make. There are lots of tips to learn more about Japanese culinary culture. I look forward to having you all! *Ramen noodle-making is not included in this class, BUT I’ll share you a surprising tip to make ramen noodles using Capellini!
Home-style Ramen&Gyoza
We meet and do this experience at my private cooking studio! We start the class with the lecture about Japanese cuisine & food culture. Then, we start cooking Ramen broth and soup from the scratch! In addition to Ramen, I'll teach how to make crispy and juicy "Gyoza pizza" which looks like a beautiful flower. After the lesson, I'll guide you to the local supermarket and introduce you to other foods and offer shopping tips. (This is optional) * This is Home-style Ramen & Gyoza class so we don't make egg noodles and gyoza wrappers from scratch (Just in case, those recipes are on my YouTube channel already. Please subscribe "YUCa's Japanese Cooking"!) but you can learn how to make Ramen broth, Tare (special thick sauce for Ramen), Ramen soup, Braised pork, Seasoned egg as well as several toppings. Thank you for understanding. * I also gather guests from my cooking class website. → YJC.TOKYO * Please let me know of any dietary restrictions in advance. Looking forward to meeting you!
