Food Scene
This place is often featured as the most unique restaurant in the state. It’s an upscale seafood, pasta, steakhouse. You can eat overlooking the lake. It’s just a neat place. Expensive so I always go for Happy Hour (M-F 4p-7p; Sa 4p-6p; Su 4:30-6) instead and get good food and drinks for a handful of dollars. It’s about a 20 minute drive.

1201 University RdI always recommend Sokolowski’s to family and friends. Don’t go when they first open, the line is around the building. Other times, there is not much of a wait. This is Cleveland’s oldest family owned restaurant. You get in line, grab a tray, and the family loads you up at a very reasonable price. One disclaimer, they have a picture or two of the Pope and a little, plastic religious statue here and there so if you would find that offensive, skip this place. There's often an older gentleman there playing the piano; his name is Tom. A 15 minute drive.
This is Michael Symon’s New American Eatery. It is excellent, but pricey. 2058 E. 4th. A 17 minute drive far into downtown Cleveland. This is the only one on the list where you’d have to pay for parking, since it is downtown.

This is just a little bakery counter with the same, nice woman working every single time and hardly ever any wait. Fresh baked breads and desserts. I always go for their lemon bars.
