6363 Spring Mill Rdit has cool ruins to walk and great trails.
the blue trail will take you in a circle from Lilly lake to a causeway through the reservior, despite the hill you will also go near the Ornithology center and the views and opportunity to rent boats make for a great day getaway (also I have a free park pass included in staying at my place)

Broad Ripple is one of the places to see- streets are lined with shopping and food places and bars. Usually something going on so just people watching on the canal is worth it.

Getting Around
these apps are sometimes the best bet because parking can be a trick downtown or in Broad Ripple but Indy is pretty parking friendly so if you have a car that may be your cheapest option.
