Take the Fort Fisher Ferry (which is 5 miles south of the condo) over to the town of Southport for the day. It's a very old waterfront town with many shops. Great for just walking around and browsing through the shops. When you are there, you must eat at The Provision Company. Right on the water, not fancy, but it's the hottest spot in Southport. Plan to wait 30-60 mins minimally, but it's worth it. You can drink beers while you wait and it's on the honor system! Yes, at the end of your meal you tell them how many beers you grabbed from the fridges during your time there. Make sure the weather is nice for Southport.

The aquarium is 4 miles south of the condo. The kids will really love this place! Great thing to do on a rainy day. They say in Carolina Beach, if you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes. It’s true. It can pour down rain for ten minutes and be gorgeous the rest of the day so watch the forecasts.

Wilmington. It’s a good 30 minutes away, but if you wanna get off the island for a day, it’s very nice. It’s all riverfront shops and restaurants. You can take a small boat tour, have ice cream or eat at any of the restaurants.

Hands down the best restaurant on the island. Make reservations! It’s old school Italian and famous for pork chops. It’s small, dimly lit and cozy. You won’t find a bad thing on the menu, for real. They close early, so check times.

It’s the most famous bar here. I’m not a huge fan, but you have to go to say you’ve been. It’s one of those places. You walk into a giant beer cooler and select from hundreds of beers and then proceed to register to pay.
