The Pier House is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. The Oak Island Pier and Pier House can be reached by turning south from East Oak Island Drive onto Womble Street. Daily, Three-Day, Five-Day, Seven-Day, and Annual Fishing Passes are available. They offer discounts for seniors (55 years and older), active-duty military personnel, and veterans.

Bald Head Island is a short ferry ride from South Port. There are no cars on Bald Head Island, but the harbor, light house, marsh, and other attractions are easily accessible by walking. Bike and golf cart rentals are available.

Recreation
The NE 55th Street Municipal Boat Ramp is one of four public boat ramps on Oak Island and the closest to the Silver Pearl. The boat ramp offers access to the Intracoastal Waterway. There are life jackets in a variety of sizes available for loan at the site.

The restaurant features steaks, seafood, specialty pastas, and a variety of desserts, including many local and regional specialties. Salt 64 has indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar area. Closed Sundays. Salt 64 is a six-minute walk from the Silver Pearl.

Turtle Talks and Turtle Hatching
The Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program is a volunteer organization that monitors and protects the sea turtle population on Oak Island beaches. During May to October, Nest Parents will mark and monitor sea turtle nests along the beach. As hatching time nears, they begin a nightly watch to protect the nest from predators and assist the hatchlings on their way to the sea. Although the organization gives Turtle Talks throughout the summer, volunteers are always eager to talk about their activities. Information can be found at https://okiseaturtle.org/
