The magnificent Tennessee Theatre first opened its doors on October 1, 1928 and was hailed as “the South’s most beautiful theatre.” When the first patrons stepped inside downtown’s “movie palace” to see their favorite stars on the silver screen, they paid only 40 cents for matinees and 60 cents for evening shows (children paid only 10 and 15 cents). Movies, musicals, music concerts and symphonies. https://www.tennesseetheatre.com/events/

If you love restored salvaged treasures this is a place you want to visit on the way to the Smokies through Maryville, TN. Furniture, Architectural Salvage, Baskets, Boxes and Buckets. Breathing new life into old pieces of furniture and household items is the mission behind Resurrected Relics, which opened in December on Washington Street in downtown Maryville. “I like taking what I’ve got and reusing it and making it new again, turning trash into treasure and making old things new,” said owner Alexis Hemrick. "We take orders for custom built furnishings made from salvaged building materials and custom painted furnishings using our line of zero VOC acrylic mineral paint, FUSION. We also welcome the hard core DIYer's that want to create their one of a kind furnishings. While we sell many artisan made treasures, we also allow our customers to pick through our hoard of salvaged building materials and found objects that we have collected through the years."
