Neighborhoods

Southwest Detroit is very much alive. The people have character, and it shows through, via all of the fun street vendors, parties and get-togethers that are happening all around here. You can see, smell and hear the fun happening here. Authentic ethnic food, vended by street trucks, trailers and roadside spots never disappoint. The music and the cars, and the scooters and quads all add the fun atmosphere. It's a little bit "Wild Wild West", mixed with a Fiesta, mixed with a car show, mixed with an outdoor party. And I'm not exaggerating! Check out McGraw near Cecil/Central, check out Vernor near Junction, and the area near the Michigan Train Station. It's a blast of street art, murals, good food and fun people.

Try the street vendors

I have not yet encountered a street food vendor here that wasn't authentic and awesome. Whether it's Tacos from one of the many Taquerias in trucks and trailers or on roadside, or if it's the restaurants with sidewalk counters to walk up and order from, the food is great. Genuine. Tasty. Authentic. This place is the place to experience the Latin American influences here in Metro Detroit. And it's not just the food - it's the atmosphere. The music in the air, the cool customized cars passing by, the scooters, go-cart and quad-runners zipping past (sometime doing stunts! Is that legal? Nah!)
