The Parque Central with its quaint colonial atmosphere is well worth a visit, and the Malecón (waterfront) is dotted with bars where you can enjoy a cocktail and a snack in a tropical ambience.

The water is generally calm and safe for swimming (protected by coral reefs), and there's plenty of shade. The Ocean World Adventure Park with adjacent terrace and casino are just up the street. There are souvenir shops and nearby good restaurants to enjoy.
