the beach

To get to Plymouth Beach , enter 137 Warren Ave. in your google maps. The beach entrance is on the right before you get to Plimoth Plantation. Restrooms and snack bar are located on the beach. There are signs posted regarding the area dogs are allowed in. No lifeguards after Labor Day. Day Parking fees (Memorial Day-Labor Day): $20. *****I suggest parking as far down as possible, then once on beach if you walk down as far as you can there will be less rocks and less people. If you are feeling real energetic, you can keep on walking and walk out to the "point" of long beach. (3 miles) It is beautiful and serene out there. Just be mindful of the tides coming in because you may have to walk up on the rocks (which is fun) or walk on the 4x4 road in some spots if it is high tide. The last couple of years their have been humpbacks feeding off of Warrens cove, and occasionally you get a sighting. And with the seal population increase their has also been some Great White sightings. However, the seals don't hang around the beach often, but if you do see seals then stay out of water.

Cape Cod Canal

great for a walk or bike ride or fishing or to watch boats go by.....(no swimming though). There is plenty of parking near the railroad bridge on either side of the canal. The RTC site's directions are to the Bourne Bridge parking area. If you want to start at the railroad bridge, continue further down Shore Rd. he Cape Cod Canal is an artificial waterway in the U.S. state of Massachusetts connecting Cape Cod Bay in the north to Buzzards Bay in the south, and is part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The approximately seven-mile-long (11 km) canal traverses the narrow neck of land joining Cape Cod to the state's mainland. Most of its length follows tidal rivers widened to 480 feet (150 m) and deepened to 32 feet (9.8 m) at mean low water, shaving 135 miles (217 km) off the journey.
