Sightseeing
This is a public boat dock with multiple wooded trails that will take you to Lake Erie beaches and is only about a mile east of us. There are multiple trails through the Preserve and the trails that lead East will lead you to the beach. There is also a kayak ramp here and between Memorial Day and Labor Day the city of Mentor rents kayaks and canoes.
Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve & Marina

Just about 1/2 west of us so you can walk or drive. A nice place to sit on swings and look out at the lake, however there isn't a sandy beach anymore. Great, close place to view the sunset.

Boasts a mile stretch of beach, with concessions stands and restrooms in the summer. There is a main trail that covers the entire length of the beach, and on the east side of the park there are trails in the sand dunes and can get good views of the lighthouse.

Home to Fairport Harbor Beach, a smaller beach than Headlands Beach that is located close to us in a quaint nostalgic beachfront town of Fairport Harbor. There are some nice gift shops (The Gravel Pit is my favorite), ice cream shop, and restaurants (Pompadour is a great restaurant with handmade cocktails and small plates, and Fairport Family Restaurant is a great casual option). You can also tour the Fairport Marine Museum and Lighthouse and get some great pictures from on top of the lighthouse. During the summer months you can rent kayaks, canoes, and jet skis at the beach.

Kayaking or Canoeing
There are several places nearby where you can rent kayaks or canoes. Fairport Harbor Beach (summer months), Mentor Lagoons Marina (summer months), and Chagrin River Kayak and Paddleboard in Eastlake (through October). We love to kayak and it’s a great way to see so many hidden treasures that most don’t see. You can also rent jet skis at Fairport Harbor Beach. If you bring your own kayak(s), let us know as there are some other ramps in the area you can launch from.

Mentor City Park System - In addition to Mentor Beach Park that is located here , there are 14 other beautiful parks managed by the city, with several of them providing public pools in the summer months.
Lake Metroparks: there are over 60 miles of trails and over 35 parks in Lake County. Some other favorites of Lake Metroparks include: Veteran's Parks here in Mentor on the Lake with great fishing, Lake Erie Bluffs in Perry, Paine Falls Park in Leroy Township for a gorgeous waterfall, Penitentiary Glen Reservation in Kirtland, Chagrin River Park in Willoughby, and Chapin Forest in Kirtland.

Mentor Civic Ampitheater
If you are our guest in the summer time be sure to check out Mentor Civic Amphitheater. Along with other events through the summer season, free concerts are held every Tuesday evening in the summer from 7-9pm that draws thousands of spectators. There are a variety of food trucks and a beer tent for the concerts, although you may bring in your own food (no alcohol can be brought in).
