About a half hour west of town, but an incredibly easy, scenic drive. Amazing wood fire pizza and wine inside the lodge, and a large amount of outdoor seating with expansive views of the hilly vineyard. One of my favorite ways to spend a long afternoon. Occasional live music throughout the summer.

Authentic North African/Middle Eastern cuisine. It is about a 45 minute drive north of Dubuque, but the drive is scenic and it is situated right next to the Turkey River with a patio over the water. Great food, and a nice way to spend an afternoon. Definitely check ahead of time to see if they are open because the hours vary.

When the bars close at 2 am in Dubuque, establishments in Illinois stay open an hour later (or in some cases even longer). If you can safely get across the bridge to East Dubuque, Mulgrews is a great greasy bar & grill and are famous for their foot-long chili dogs.

Music is booked by Daytrotter from the Quad Cities.
