Big Moe's Diner is an American 1950's-themed burger and milkshake restaurant, complete with retro decor and music. Their food is great, and you can eat on a table inside a Chevrolet! It's right by Aldgate East station.

The famous Blind Beggar pub is definitely worth a visit. It's right by Whitechapel station (and the market), and they've got a nice beer garden. Make sure you spot the pub cat!

A bit further down than Mile End park but it's bigger and has a lovely pond with swans. Make sure you check out the Chinese Pagoda!

Brick Lane market is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're staying in the East End. The market is only open on weekends, but you'll find Brick Lane has a lot to offer on weekdays too. Food (especially amazing curries), vinyl, vintage clothes... it's a hipster dream.

Roman Road has a good market and lots of cute vintage-style cafes and shops. It's lovely for an afternoon out, and only a few minutes on the bus.

Voted the best UK cinema, the Genesis is an awesome independent cinema. It's cheaper than the mainstream cinemas, and nicer too. There's a bar, and the decor is retro and stylish, with huge posters from iconic movies and cute lighting. Perfect for a date!

The co-op on Mile End Road is opposite Mile End station, and open 24hrs (except Sundays). It stocks the basic essential foods and toiletries etc. Their £5 frozen meal deals are usually pretty good!
