Spicy Villa bungalows are set in the hillside of Northern Thailand, just a short drive from Chiang Mai (1.5 to 2 hours), in Baan Huay Pong, T. Mae Win, A. Mae Wang, Chiang Mai.
Their location offers amazing mountain views, especially at sunrise while the morning mists in the valley are rising.
(The address shown for this listing is for our offices in Chiang Mai, not for the bungalows.)
The idea of our place is to stay in harmony with nature and spend time together as a family. We cook together, we eat together and share the experience. You can experience local traditions and meet local hill tribe people in neighbouring villages. All our staff is local as well.
Spicy Villas are environmentally friendly and self-sustainable. Our energy is derived from solar panels and we cook on open fire, using wood.
Spicy Villa Eco-Lodge is a place to appreciate simple living. You will find peace, serenity and authenticity in this non-touristic area. This is not the right place for those who seek luxury, but it is extremely rewarding to those who seek pristine experience.
Our bungalows are handmade like traditional, hill tribe, jungle huts in the area. They are comfortable and clean.
We have three family and six private bungalows available for our guests.
Private bungalows are suitable for one or two guests while family bungalows are suitable for up to four guests. Private bungalows consist of one and family bungalows of two rooms. Each room has a comfortable queen-sized mattress.
Each bungalow has a private bathroom with toilet and cold shower and a balcony with hammocks where you can chill out and enjoy the views.

There are a lot of activities you can do during your stay. Ask us and we will organize them for you. You can go on a humane elephant trek (bareback riding), hike to traditional hill tribe villages, trek in the jungle and visit waterfalls, hike over rice paddies and learn about traditional farming methods, you can also bamboo raft, river tube or canoe on the river.
Activities are not included in the price of your accommodation.
If you wish to do any or all of them during your stay, ask us and we will prepare a custom itinerary for your stay.

Grew up in the countryside, lived in Buddhist temple for 8 years as a novice monk then I went to university where I graduated in tourism management in 2002.

Along with my eco-lodges, I also operate an Eco-Tourism company, where I organize custom small and private group tours for outdoor activities off the beaten tracks, real village visits, local waterfalsl, bare back elephant riding, cooking by using bamboo in the jungle, healthy cycling and more. Ask for details!

I like outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, cycling and off roading. I am very involved in local community projects and run an English teaching volunteer project as well for ethnic minority school kids.
