Cooter's Cabin

Our cabin is perfect for your family's next getaway. Rick and I have owned this small retreat for 20 yrs. Our 3 kids and 12 grandchildren continue to enjoy it year-round. We decided to allow other families to join in and experience the blessings the cabin has to offer. Why Cooter's Cabin? Rick's nickname Cooter not the fact that American Coot's differ from other ducks in that they have lobed feet instead of webbed! It is do to a good ol' hunting story, how many nicknames are forged.

We are so excited to invite you to stay in our sweet little classic cottage, nestled in the heart of Elizabeth City's historic district. 1201 Church Street is surrounded by some of the original Elizabeth City homes dating all the way back to the late 1700s. We fell in love with the charm of the area combined with all of the up-and-coming attractions nearby. Our cottage is close to all of the new downtown breweries, wine bars, trendy restaurants, and waterfront district.

A peaceful, relaxing place to stay for couples and small families located in a great, quiet neighborhood. This neighborhood provides little traffic and is perfect for walking. Sherry’s house is handicapped accessible, two bedrooms (master has queen adjustable bed), two full baths, office / laundry room, and garage. This location is just 6.4 miles from Historic Downtown Edenton which offers restaurants, shopping, historic tours, and beautiful views of the water.
