The Tower, Thornton Castle

Traditional & relaxed accommodation in the 16th century Scottish tower of our family home. Accessed by a spiral staircase your space comprises 2 bedrooms for 4 people over two floors in a private wing of the castle with bathroom and small sitting room. Full breakfast included. Set in the foothills of the Cairngorm National Park, this is an ideal stop off between Inverness and Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle, Dunnottar Castle, Glamis Castle and St Andrews are nearby. Tennis court available.

Recently converted blacksmith's workshop, now a comfortable architect-designed open-plan apartment with bedroom, shower-room, modern kitchen and programable under-floor heating. There is a unique feature light created by Scotland’s “Blazing Blacksmith”. It is a detached stone-built dwelling in its own walled-drive with parking space and mounted charger for electric cars. A twenty minute drive takes you into the Angus glens which boast some of the best walking and climbing destinations in Scotland. Dundee is half-an-hour's drive south and Aberdeen an hour's drive northwards.

We are dog friendly and can accommodate one house trained dog.

The Seaside/Harbour town of Arbroath is a 5 min drive away, with lots of lovely Cafes, Restaurants, Cinema and Theatre. Golfing, Fishing , Kayaking round the Cliffs and Walking, are plentiful in and around the area with Carnoustie Golf Links a 15 minute drive. Bus and Train Station in town for those who want to venture further.
