steep uphill hike but if you have the stamina keep going past the ute rock to the top of aspen mtn and watch blue grass bands for free (on sundays) have lunch and take the gondola down for free

Ute Trail and Aspen Mountain is a hard hike. It's approximately 1.2 miles to the Scenic overlook and its about 2 more miles up Aspen mountain. The whole hike can take anywhere depending on your skill level from 1.30-3.5 hours to the top of Aspen mountain. There is blue grass music on Sundays and YOU CAN RIDE THE GONDOLA DOWN!

This is a strenuous hike....the "stairmaster" of Aspen. The switchbacks will take you to the top of the UTE and then continue on to the top of Aspen Mountain. The best part is the Gondola ride down.

This is a burner of a hike but it's worth every turn. You ascend up the east side of Aspen mtn in a matter of minutes to overlook town from a huge rock out cropping. bring the camera and the water!
