Easy parking on weekdays with direct access to the trailhead, scenic hike with plenty of shades and lake views. Walk right into RMNP. Easy access to lake amenities at town of Grand Lake. Bring picnics since most of the restaurants are overpriced.

This is a free trail along the West coast of the lakes. It's beautiful, close, heavily wooded, and not entirely easy to find. it's also cool to say you hiked along the Continental Divide trail.
