Rent a paddle boat or paddle board and spend an hour on the huge lake (check out "Bird Island"), or take a leisurely walk along the paths. There are often events in the western parts of this huge park. The zoo and Museum of Nature and Science are located here.

Yoga in the mornings, movies in the summer, huge concerts most days of the week. Some folks go to Red Rocks for the excellent hiking and amazing views, others head out towards evening to catch the art & cultural attractions. It's also pretty close, only about 30 minutes west in the foothills. NOTE: You can Uber/Lyft out there but it can be hard to get back into the city at night. Plan ahead or opt to carpool back.
