This place is open until 2am, has a huge rotating beer selection, and the food is actually really great (pizzas, burgers, salads, sandwiches). It's located in downtown Fort Walton Beach and there is plenty of free parking in one of the city lots nearby. It can be a bit of a challenge to figure out how to get to this place from Destin, so definitely ask me for directions ahead of time.

Boardwalk/Wayside Park station
This park is located across from the bay. There are picnic tables and a short nature walk area, where you can learn about and observe some native species. There is a shallow water fishing pier across from the park, where you can fish (with your license) or watch the locals fish with cast nets.
And the sunrise and sunset is pretty fabulous from this spot too.
