Nurse or Doctor?
There’s a health center on the Island for non-emergent needs. They are open Mon, Weds, and Fri 830am-3pm. The phone number is 207-874-2466.
For emergencies, dial 911. If ferry departure time happens to be close, and you are not too sick or injured, take it rather than waiting on the EMS and fire boat.
If there's something going on non-emergent, you can try the Peaks Island Health Center. Otherwise, Convenient MD in town on Marginal Way is a great urgent care health center.

Golf carts are one great way to explore the island, especially if you can't bike or walk. Mike's carts are electric, like ALL carts on the island. Reservations are a MUST, they don't take walk-ups. Rentals can be short or long term.

I recommend bringing your special food needs, but we’re SO lucky to have Hannigan's grocery store on the island for all your basic needs (plus fun classics and local foods we don’t see very often). They're motto is, "If we don't have it, you don't need it.”

Steps away, Baba's Cafe brings espresso drinks to the island (Hooray!). They have a nice selection of homemade baked goods (they're no Standard Bakery but their mini croissants do the trick). You're sure to find something tasty. They just opened Summer 2022, owned by the same young woman from Peaks Carts. YAY!!!

Bring an extra layer for the ferry ⛴
It can get cool at night or when the wind picks up. Bring an extra layer for the boat ride. A rain jacket works if you’re packing light. I like to stuff a scarf into my bag because it’s light weight and keeps me warm.

I've been wishing for something like this. Besides the three great food trucks on the island, you can find more in Portland on the Eastern Promenade (amazing views, park and picnic area), local breweries, and more locations.
