8 Minutes from the apartment , This is a great beach, Arena Gorda beach in Punta Cana is great. Soft white powder sand & warm sea. Clean beach and sand was easy on your feet. No seaweed in the water and water was warm enough. Swimming was good as the waves were not high and the sea was calm.
Lots to see as you walk on the beach and nice activities, volley ball etc. Really nice beach for a long walk and the sand is soft to the feet.
Punta Arena Gorda

Playa Bibijagua is perhaps the most active beach in the Punta Cana-Bavaro areas. Here you will find a grand shopping plaza called Plaza Bibijagua, with over 100 stalls for touristic items such as beach clothing, cigars, inexpensive jewelry, shells, rum, coffee, beach floats, snorkel masks and the famously known aphrodisiac, “Mamajuana”, a local liquor made by the locals. The beach is full of all kinds of activities for whatever your mood dictates. There are designated areas for swimming so be sure to abide because of the many boats and wind surfers. If you want an active day, a beautiful beach, excellent restaurants and bars, this is your place! Here you can stay at five-star all-inclusive resorts or if you prefer to have a more authentic experience, you can find, vacation rentals, hotels and youth hostels.

Plaza Bibijagua is located on Bavaro Beach in between IFA Villas Bavaro and Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort. It is a short twenty-minute drive to the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). You can reach Playa Bibijagua by following Avenue Estados Unidos toward Bavaro and look for the sign ‘Bibijaqua” near Venezia Restaurant.
Atmosphere
Fun, Active and International. Playa Bibijagua is populated with restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and non-stop action including a large assortment of water excursions…and of course you can pamper yourself further with a relaxing massage or having your hair braided!

It is not one of the most beautiful beaches as the water can be quite plagued with algae from the current and the boat traffic. The resorts do their best to keep the beach clean but it is an ongoing challenge. The only accommodations for tourists in this village are the all-inclusive resorts listed below.

The beach is long and narrow leaving very little space for the plentiful lounge chairs and sun lovers. If you are not a beach lover the pool areas are fantastic — that is if you are staying at the resort!
Activities:
Swimming, relaxing, group exercising in the water, flyboat and many excursions to choose from.
Crowd Factor:
Can be VERY crowded in the high season and normally-crowded in the off season, especially at the resorts.
Access:
If you are not staying at an all-inclusive resort, there is a small public beach where you can bring a towel and sunbathe. Just follow the signs to the Dolphin Explorer. There is a parking lot next to the entrance of the beach.
To Be Noted:
This is not an area to go out on your own. It’s safe but there is not much to see and though the area is quaint it is a bit run down and unkempt. The resort should arrange all excursions and transportation for you.
