Dixies doesn't serve food but may have a food truck during the season or order from Good Times Grill across the street or delivery from Mabe's or wherever. Super easy from Twin Oak BnB without a car.

Toppling Goliath is near and dear to our hearts, well at least our mouths. Great Beer and now great food, now located just outside Decorah on Hwy 9. We miss having them in the neighborhood, but many of their brews are at Dixie's or Good Times. Only 4.8 miles from Twin Oak, worth the short trip. Voted the best bar stools in the galaxy, "by me" 3 years in a row.

Decorah Parks! I don't know if this is still true, Decorah had more parks in the city limits than any other town of it's size in the USA. This was and still is because of the hard work and dedication of numerous people. THANK YOU! We appreciate what you have done and what you still do! There is lots of great history there if you want to dig deeper. Visit Decorah Parks on-line for more great, great parks, trails, springs, bluffs and all kinds of fun stuff. Dunning's is our favorite.

Do I need an interpreter?
Most people in Decorah speak English, well American anyway. Just a few phrases or words that may be helpful.
Uff Da can be used to express surprise, relief, exhaustion, astonishment and dismay. Kind of like "what the or holy", used in a sentence," Uff da, I can't believe I ate the whole thing".
If you speak Midwestern you'll get along just fine here without an interpreter. Phrases like, what's all this then, I gotta pee and yeah then, are all common phrases you can pick up quickly.
If you don't understand something, a simple smile and nod will always work.
