Walking/biking is the easiest way to get around

Although buses are very cheap and taxis are very combient the traffic around Ajijic and San Antonio is sometimes unbearable. With the cyclovia connecting all the towns, from Chapala to Jocotepec, biking and walking are the best and most enjoyable ways to get around.

Be Mindful of the Weather

Although the Ribera of Chapala is known for its mild weather year-round, be prepared for torrential rains during the summer and for temperatures below 50 F in the late afternoons during the winter. Although the summer can be tricky due to the rain and high temperatures, the mountains surrounding Ajijic turn a beautiful emerald green that is worth coming for.

The tour of Galo Allende Goat Farm is an experience for the entire family. The tour starts with breakfast, then a goat milking class, goat cheese and wine tasting, and all of this while enjoying an amazing view of Chapala Lake.
