This trailhead leads to lots of great hiking trails, including Forest Lakes (7.8 miles RT), Crater Lakes (6.6 miles RT), or follow the South Boulder trail to the Great Divide. One of our favorite trails around! Get up early or go on a weekday to avoid crowds.

Close by with some great hiking trails. The Rifleman Campground trailhead is less than 20 minutes away via Twin Spruce Road. We love hiking down to Forgotten Valley.

Eldorado Canyon State Park has both easier and difficult hiking trails, all with amazing views. Also a great place to check out the rock climbers (or do it yourself, if that's your thing!)

There's a trailhead about 10 minutes away. Hike down to the Creek for some fly fishing or just viewing (about 3 or 5 miles RT, depending on which side you choose). Or do the entire loop for a 7.8 mile hike! Trails also connect to Eldorado State Canyon. Also, a mountain biker's paradise! For the side closest to us, you'll want to search for the Crescent Meadows Trailhead.

The Fourth of July trailhead is so named because it is often inaccessible until after July 4th. You may need or want 4WD to access this trailhead. Diamond Lake is one of the most popular hikes off this trail, but there are many other trails to explore as well!

Downtown Nederland is a great place to explore. About a 30 minute drive, you'll see some good scenery and there's lots of cute little shops to check out and some good restaurants, including Decent Bagels, Crosscut Pizza, and Busey Brews and Smokehouse (BBQ).
