This is a local excursion on 10 minutes drive from our villa and helps support the local community.
The Cabarete Caves are located in the Cabarete and Goleta Lagoons Natural Monument (El Choco). The route that leads to a cave system made up of hundreds of caves. Among the most visited are: the "Cueva Taina", the "Cueva de las Ranas and the" Cueva Cristal. The route takes approximately 1hr30 minutes.
To access the "Cueva Taina", you have to descend a further 50 steps and thus reach a small freshwater lagoon, that comes of the mountain springs of the region, and in which if you wish you can enjoy a rich and refreshing bath. After leaving this cave you continue to the "Cueva de Cristal", its particular gallery of thousands of stalagmites and stalactites stand out for their color, appearance and shapes. On the way, you will visit the "Cueva de las frogs.

Eating at Wilson's restaurant is not just about the food, even though its one of the best places to eat Dominican style fish in Cabarete! Its a whole experience. After only a 5 minute drive from our villa you will park next to the River Yasica where Willson will send his boat to pick you up and take you to his little paradise, a Robinson Cruso style Restaurant! Everything is freshly cooked in his kitchen on the natural wood fire.
He also has the best Coco loco and Piña Colada in the area! which you can enjoy while taking in the local scenery and Kite surfers out on the river.

Puerto Plata, officially known as San Felipe de Puerto Plata, is the third-largest city in the Dominican Republic, capital of the province of Puerto Plata and is 45 minutes drive from our villa.
During your visit we recommend you visit the Old town main square with its Apostle Cathedral, Central bandstand, cafes and tourist boutiques.
The first aerial tramway of the Caribbean is located in Puerto Plata, in which visitors can ride up to the Pico Isabel de Torres, a 793-meter (2600-foot) high mountain within the city.
You can also visit the fortification Fortaleza San Felipe, which was built in the 16th century which lies close to the port of Puerta Plata and the amber museum, is also a well-known attraction in this city.
