Sightseeing
Mont de Cerisy, Cerisy Belle Etoile, 61100 is only a 15 minute drive away and a great way to spend a day either exploring and walking or laying reading a book! In the centre of beautifully kept grounds stand the remains of an old castle. The look out tower provides a stunning panorama across the forest. There are two woodland trails you can follow – one easier than the other. Views are stunning and viewpoints sign posted. There is a kids playground, tennis courts, café, toilets, free parking and crazy golf (hire at the café). Take a picnic as the café isn’t reliable! Watch smaller kids on the forest walks as there are some steap drops without any rails etc.

Here you can bungee jump from the viaduct, walk across on a rope bridge, swing through the trees in tandem, zip wire, ‘go ape’ or ride the luge….or just enjoy watching everyone else in beautiful scenery. The Luge is age 3years and over and there is a also bare foot nature walk ‘jardin pieds’ for toddlers and playground at the bottom surrounded by a lovely picnic area with toilets. The café here is very reasonably priced and the food is good. Check opening times.

Mont St Michel is simply stunning. It's a magnificent place to spend the day. Check online regards tide times and events. Recent guests said it was ‘not buggy friendly’.

There are many D Day beaches and tours all within just over an hours drive. Depending on when you are here will depend on events being held. Please check online for details. Museums often charge entry fees.

Vire is our local town with everything you need regards shops, cafes, restaurants and a Friday market. It is set around the remains of a castle and you can walk along the river taking in views of the pretty town. There are often events here so keep an eye out for posters locally!

Bayeux aventure, Cussy, 14400 1hr drive
This ‘go ape’ park is set around a lovely tree lined picnic area. There are 4 different levels of tree climbing and you can chose to leave at the end of each level if you wish. You can also be rescued should you get half way and panic!! Also available is ‘tubbing’, zorbing, rodeo, mini golf, a maze, ball pit, giant inflatables, go karts, archery, pony rides and play areas. There are toilets and a café with lots of picnic areas and the price is very reasonable. Age limits vary depending on the activity.

There are 2 paths to complete with various feeding times to view, which are easy to follow. Parking is free. There are lovely play areas by the cafes and gift shops. The picnic area is well appointed by car park area P5. *Go in to the gift shop and request to leave for your picnic. They will stamp your hand and let you out!

Zoo de Jurques We’re generally not a fan of zoos but I highly recommend this one. It has active breeding programmes with a heavy influence on education. Set in a huge forest it feels far from ‘zoo like’. The enclosures are huge, appropriate and well kept. Animals are all in very good condition and the keepers are friendly and helpful. There are 2 paths to complete with various feeding times to view, which are easy to follow. Parking is free. There are lovely play areas by the cafes and gift shops. The picnic area is well appointed by car park area P5. *Go in to the gift shop and request to leave for your picnic. They will stamp your hand and let you out!
Beaches
Carolles plage (beach). A beautiful flat sandy beach with amazing huge rock pools! The car park is free and there are loos, picnic benches and lifeguards. 2 lovely little café restaurants serve lunch and dinner in peak season.

Granville place. Home to Christian Dior this is a stunning seaside town with a Dior museum on the coastal path. The beach has a pool section and there are lifeguards, coastal walks and fish restaurants.

Saint Martin de Brehal is a beautiful seaside village with lots of small cafes and ice cream bars. The beach is gorgeous!
