Paddington Station is synonymous with Paddington Bear, the children’s book character from Darkest Peru, who loves eating marmalade sandwiches. See a bronze statue of the bear under the clock at Platform 1. Leave Paddington’s grand train station and discover the tranquil canals of Little Venice, where you can take a canal boat to ZSL London Zoo in Camden Town. Little Venice is also home to the Puppet Theatre barge where families can enjoy a puppet show in an unusual setting. There is no shortage of green space in Paddington as the neighbourhood is wedged between two Royal Parks – Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Enjoy a picnic in Norfolk Square Gardens and Talbot Square Gardens where you’ll find deck chairs, ping pong tables and giant chess.
