Neighborhoods
Lafayette Square is an elegant Victorian style neighborhood with an adorable park in middle. I recommend walking around and checking out the architecture. Some of our favorite spots in this neighborhood are listed below. This is a 7 min drive from the grove. Polite Society - One of our favorite restaurants for a nice dinner. Menu changes seasonally and we are always impressed. Vin De Set - Southern french bistro. A lovely experience for a special occasion or just because. They also have a rooftop bar when weather permits. Eleven Eleven Mississippi - Tuscan / Northern Californian inspired cuisine with an emphasis on wine. Lafayette Square Park - A lovely park to walk through or have a picnic. It is small and quite. I would also suggest checking out there social media handles or websites for events held in the park during the weekend. 33 Wine Bar - We enjoy grabbing a drink before or after dinner. Pop - Champagne bar with good appetizers. Planters house - Has great cocktail. They also have dinner which is highly recommended. Clementines Naughty and Nice Creamery - Ice cream! Square1 Brewery - is your typical brewery if you are looking for beer and food. SqWires Restaurant and Annex is in a really cool building. They have a good brunch with a huge bloody mary bar and bottomless mimosa. Park Avenue Coffee - Neighborhood coffee shop and they also sell a St. Louis original, Gooey Butter Cake.

Botanical Heights is a 13 min walk / 2 min drive from the house. This tiny little area sits in between The Grove and the Shaw neighborhood. Although, this area is only a few blocks, it is a gem. All of the places listed below are all on the same block / intersection and can easily walk. La Patisserie Chouquette - The cutest chicest french bakery in the city. There is no other place like it. They also offer afternoon tea. Check out their website for details. AO & CO - Specialty market, coffee and tea shop. Elaia - High end Mediterranean and it is located behind olio (a sister restaurant). This restaurant is located in a house, which creates an interesting dining a experience. Menu is seasonal and service is top notch. Nixta - upscale Mexican with great cocktails iNDO - Southeast Asian with the best fish in the city. The atmosphere is very quaint and does not seat a lot of guest. An intimate experience with exceptional service. I highly recommend reservations. They tend to book out pretty far in advance. Union Loafers - Is a bread bakery and cafe serving sandwiches / salads during the day and pizza in the evening. This is my favorite New York style pizza in Stl. and I do not say that lightly. You can also purchase loaves and 1/2 loaves among other baked goods. This is one of our favorite spots in the city. OLIO - Mediterranean small plate. Laid back atmosphere and it is in an old service station. They have a great outside seating when weather permits and we love their cocktails.
