You will find our home restful, clean and attractive with many amenities including coffee/tea and a light breakfast. Three steps up to the deck, get your keys from the convenient lock box at the Side door. Everything is fresh with new lvt flooring and new carpet.
Your shared bathroom in the hall will be clean with many toiletries/hair dryer provided. There is signage about sharing the bathroom and etiquette. Your room features art and books from the area, gree Wi-Fi, New 32" Smart TV. Netflix is included (No Cable). Hand-crafted signage gives needed information on passwords, breakfast options, location of needed items and amenities. Books, local art, magazines, menus and brochures promoting local landmarks, dining and culture.
The shared area with cathedral ceilings includes a bright, eat-in kitchen with new appliances. The living room boasts a comfortable sectional. Many guests also enjoy relaxing at the tables and chairs on the deck in nice weather. Smoking is permitted on the deck with ash trays provided. You may also relax in the back yard/ lower patio (when the mulberries aren't falling). Bonfires must be prearranged.
The hosts have their private quarters in the lower level. They will greet you if they are in, but they let you have your privacy. Co-host/husband Bill works from home, so he is available and responsive if a need arises. Sherry leaves for school at 7:00 weekdays. After that, breakfast is self-served. There is signage for where to find supplies and dishes. She often leaves fresh muffins on the breakfast counter. On the weekends and in summer, Sherry could make you a hot breakfast like eggs and toast. Our business folks usually like the Grab-N-Go option like muffins, toast, banana or breakfast sandwich.
We live in Peaselburg, an old, diverse, modest but safe neighborhood in Covington (over 200 years old). There are some old residential streets which seem narrow/crowded, as there is parking on both sides since most do not have driveways. Most of our neighbors keep their yards and homes very well, while some renters down the street seem to not care about image. Very conveniently located, you'll have quick access to both interstates, Madison Ave, KY 16 and 17, Downtown, the Riverfront and all the attractions you want to see.
Covington is experiencing a renaissance. Many historical buildings in the urban core that were in disrepair are being restored. New restaurants, bars, boutique hotel, lofts, retail space and shops are opening all the time. These new places, as well as the tried and true, are an eclectic mix in this river city. Our sister cities, Cincinnati and Newport, are exciting places as well.
Steeped in German heritage, Peaselburg has a great variety of older brick, two-story homes, cottages, town-homes, and apartments. A mixture of cultural backgrounds, churches, public and parochial schools, grocery stores, corner pubs, and businesses can be found. Peaselburg cares about its neighborhood and watch out for one another.
