You'll love this unique and romantic escape. Switch off from a busy schedule, relax and unwind in the oldest dwelling in Naracoorte. Ormerod Cottage was built by the first settler on the original Naracoorte Station Run.
Lovingly restored in the 1990’s, the cottage is private and cozy featuring a large open fireplace, king bed, claw foot bath, & private garden.
Treat yourselves whilst enjoying a sumptuous wine and local produce platter in house.
Situated on the grounds of Narracoorte Homestead.

The Cottage is 180 years old, the first dwelling built in Naracoorte in 1842, and is of significant heritage value to inhabitants of the town of Naracoorte and to South Australian history.
There are a number of grants outstanding for on-going conservation works that are a part of maintaining a building of this age.
Please consider the historical significance of the building, noting that some 'character' can be seen in walls and flooring.
Please leave The Cottage in the condition in which is was presented.

Hi there! I am thrilled to be the host of the beautiful and historic Narracoorte Homestead. I can’t wait to tell you all about it and the region so that your stay is truly an experience you will remember forever.

I grew up in the town and my family are fourth generation sheep farmers. I have worked in wine industry in regions around Australia for over 20 years and previously managed a luxury bnb and wine tasting room in the Coonawarra wine region. I enjoy sharing my passion for the region and agriculture industry and I look forward to tailoring an experience to your individual needs.

My family is large and all live in the area also, so I have enlisted their help in running the property. My Mum & Dad are my gardening advisors, my nephew is a great cook, and my brothers are a great help with their handyman/muscle and business acumen from running their sheep farms and local rental properties.

I have a lot of community support in running this property and I invite you to consider staying a little longer in the area to relax and enjoy a 'digital detox' in a highly functioning agricultural area. Boules and bowls are available for a game on the lawn, perhaps in between visiting local sites..?
And, be prepared to learn about all things country, history and wine whilst enjoying the finer things life has to offer
