Michelle Marie’s cosy abode is located in the centre of the quaint hamlet of Oyne, Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland. Right in the centre of Aberdeenshire so ideal for adventurers!
This charming wee granite cottage is snuggled into the idyllic countryside in the shadow of the local landmark, Bennachie, a large hill range which dominates the landscape.

The property, which was originally a Post Office many moons ago, also has a claim to fame as it was awarded ‘Most stylish garden’ by expert Tommy Walsh, Charlie Dimmock and Linda Barker at the 2016 Scottish Home Show.
Light and airy, with tasteful fittings, the cottage has been finished to a high standard throughout with thoughtful touches to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Glenbogie can be the perfect retreat for a single person, a couple, or small family looking for a relaxed break, a base to explore job opportunities in Aberdeen, ideal space for working from home or also for wedding guest overspill from nearby venues.

Glenbogie is the perfect place to stay if you are attending a wedding at Logie Country House or Pittodrie House as we are just five minutes drive away from both venues. Other nearby event venues are The Barn at Barra Castle, Thainstone House Hotel, Lochter, Wardhill House and Meldrum House.

This beautiful granite cottage is within the owner’s grounds and comprises of the following:

The rental property is set all on one floor with a spacious hallway, comfortable living space upon entry and leading into the further rooms.

Living/Dining area: With open fire for that cosy country feel, Firestick and DVD player. Library of books and board games.

Kitchen area: Electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer. Stunning view of the back garden.

Bedroom: With king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers/dressing table, chair, bedside lockers and childs cot.

Bathroom: With shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

Central heating, oil filled radiators, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, Firestick, and logs for fire included.

Welcome pack available including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel.

Private parking for 1 at the front of the property and 2 cars at the rear of the property.

The local area:
With attractive scenery, nature walks, castles, whisky distilleries, stately homes, beautiful gardens, good walking, cycling, fishing, golfing and on its edge some magnificent beaches and fishing villages within easy reach you are spoilt for choice of things to do! And with the hill range of Bennachie situated literally minutes away it is an ideal location to start some great walking and cycling trails which are possible for all abilities.
The busy towns of Inverurie and Huntly are just a short drive away with their many shops and restaurants. And the heart of the North East, the city of Aberdeen, with its maze of cobbled streets and historic buildings is easily accessible by car or train.

Aberdeenshire and Scotland:
Aberdeenshire is a lovely part of Scotland which has a great balance of city life (The Granite City) with proximity to the Cairngorms National Park, castles, ancient ruins, the Highlands of Scotland, Royal Deeside, some of the most esteemed fishing rivers in the world, great kayaking (sea and river), surfing (with a wetsuit), mountain biking, SCUBA diving, historic sites, lighthouses, Balmoral, Whisky Trails, Highland games (complete with caber tossing, kilts and bagpipes), deer stalking, theatre, music, windswept beaches and beautiful wild scenery. And if you time it right (first w/e in September), and are interested, you can see Her Majesty the Queen and family at the Braemar Highland Games which are held about an hour away.
Also, with a car you can visit Glasgow (City of Culture), Edinburgh (Capital City), Inverness (Gateway to the Highlands, and 'Nessie'), The Black Isle (dolphin watching etc.), the etc. all within a 3hr drive. The exquisite and rugged West Coast of Scotland (Skye, Mull, Staffa, Iona, Harry Potters Hogwarts Express etc.) is within about a 4-5hr drive of my home through very beautiful scenery - although the islands will obviously require ferry crossings. Depending upon the time of year, and the skies, you might even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights of old Aberdeen (Aurora Borealis) which I have often watched through the skylight in my bedroom while snuggled up in bed!

Hello or Fit like? My name is Michelle Marie! I'm a friendly, accommodating, welcoming person who loves meeting new people, this is one of my many reasons for opening my doors to Airbnb guests! Working full-time in Aberdeen as a Production Chemist in the Oil & Gas sector, the quiet life of Oyne is my retreat from the hustle and bustle of a busy role. Pottering around in my garden, art, visiting family, friends and undertaking upcycling projects fill my spare time and keep my happy. Oh, and I’m a First Aider! My traditional granite home is attached to the AirBnB rental property also so I am never far away incase you need help or advice. My wee boy Brandyn and I look forward to welcoming you into our home. The last train back is *** and the last bus back on weekends is **** A taxi to Aberdeen would be about £60. A taxi to Insch would be about £5. A taxi to Inverurie which has nice restaurants and pubs would be about £10-12.
