Whalecome to the inaugural season of the Knotty Whale! Whale Down (lower unit of a duplex)is a four bedroom, two bathroom unit that sleeps 10 comfortably. This home is located a block from Cherry Grove Beach in the heart of beautiful North Myrtle Beach. This home has a classic beach house vibe with modern upgrades and is a perfect of example of what Cherry Grove has to offer.

Whale Down is 1200 sq ft and has been completely transformed into the perfect setting for your family vacation. The kitchen has been remodeled with new cabinets, stainless steel appliances including a dish washer, granite countertops, a new Duo Keurig coffee machine and a large eat in area. The living room has new vinyl plank floors, 50” smart tv, and a new couch. Two bedrooms have 42” smart TVs, free WiFi, and a washer and dryer in an exterior closet. There is also a large screened-in porch perfect for enjoying your coffee and the sunrise in the morning, or playing cards at night.
Each bedroom has a theme: The Nauti Room, The Reef Retreat, Beach & Bae, and Captain's Quarters. Which room will you choose?
Towels and Linens are included in the price. We provide a starter pack of toilet paper.
For larger groups-Whale Down can be rented with Whale Up (Similar Upper Unit)-for those looking to travel together but want would like separate spaces.

GUEST UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES:

1. That this accommodation is a privately owned dwelling with the Owner's furnishings and the owner shall not be responsible for providing any additional furnishings or equipment not available presently in the unit. 2. The Owner of this dwelling shall not be liable for damage or injury to tenant or to any other person, or to any property occurring on the premises or any part thereof, and tenant agrees to hold Owner harmless for any claims for damage, no matter how caused. 3. To honor check-in time as 4 PM and check-out time is at 9 AM 4. The Owner will not be responsible for personal items Guest may bring and/or leave in the unit. However, Owner will make a diligent effort to locate left items of importance and return to Guest. Guest agrees to pay for cost to cover expense of packaging and mailing. 5. Occupancy will be limited to the number of Guests unit will accommodate and approved of by Owner. Parking will be limited to the number of spaces advertised for unit. Vehicles in excess of this number will be subject to towing at Guest's expense. The Guest may not wash, repair, or paint in the driveway or any other common area on the premises. 6. There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit (beach towels are not), daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. Garbage must be taken out to the proper bins outside the house. 7. To indemnify Owner for any damage to the rental unit grounds, furnishings, equipment, and household items, therein, which occur during the Guest's period of occupancy, excluding normal wear and tear. Guests agree to accept financial responsibility for any damage to any of the above. Guests understand that any damages which are discovered to exist, or, which occur during Guest's occupancy, should be reported to Owner at the earliest possible. Either by email, text, or by phone. 8. That if Renter or any member of his/her party violates any of the conditions or agreements of this contract, Owner may terminate this contract and enter the premises. Specifically, the Owner may eject a person or persons from the premises for reasons including but not limited to 1) nonpayment, 2) disorderly conduct so as to create a public nuisance, 3) the person is using the premise for unlawful purpose including but not limited to possession of a controlled substance or consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21, or 4) any other reason allowed by law (HOUSE PARTIES ARE PROHIBITED). Owner has final authority in deciding if occupants are a group or a house party or if the grounds for ejection have been met. Should Owner decide, occupancy will either not be permitted or terminated, and all rent will be forfeited. No exceptions. Owner strictly rents to families, couples, and responsible adults. Minimum check-in age is 25. The renter of record who is 25 or older must always be present to provide responsible adult supervision. 9. That even the best equipment, appliances, internet service, and TVs occasionally malfunction. The Owner cannot guarantee them to perform 100% of the time. However, we do guarantee to correct the problem as soon as possible. Guests agree to allow Owner or their representatives to enter the property at reasonable hours to make timely repairs or inspections. No refunds will be made for mechanical failure or property cleanliness. 10. Guests have been provided with, and acknowledge receipt of, a copy of the House Rules. Guests agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Owner, and anyone else the Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all time while at the property. 11. Guests acknowledges House Rules:
House Rules
1. For the safety and protection of our guest there are surveillance cameras located on the outside of the property including a Ring doorbell camera in the front of the building at the entrance, on the second floor landing, and also a camera covering the front porch. These cameras will be recording during your visit. There is also a fire extinguisher under each kitchen sink and smoke detectors throughout the unit. Tampering with these devices is prohibited. 2. Perishable items may be found left behind by previous guests. Guests are welcome to use, discard or leave them for the next guest. Owner does not provide any food items. 3. Guests should keep shower drains free of hair. DO NOT put any type of oil or grease down any drain. 4. Guests should not hang clothing or towels over balconies. Climbing on or over the balconies is not allowed. Guest should observe children closely while on the balcony for safety reasons. 5. Quiet Hours: Please respect other guests by following quiet hours from 10pm-7am 6. Smoking is not allowed in the building, porches, or immediate vicinity of the property. Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly. 7. Primary Guest must sign contract and provide photo Identification. There is also no pets allowed on the premises. 8. No parking in the neighbor’s driveway or on the grass/lawn 9. No unregistered guests or visitors allowed 10. No eating or drinking in bedrooms. 11. Lint traps need to be cleaned after each use 12. Make sure to turn off the lights and any electronics when you leave the house. Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the doors. 13. Photo/video shoots require advance permission and additional payment. 14. Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. 15. Use of the charcoal grills must be done in a responsible manner and remain at least 10 feet from the house. 16. If there is a problem or concern, please text the owner at the appropriate time for a fast response. In the event of an emergency call 911 and then the owner. 17. Departure Instructions: 1. Kitchen: wash any dishes 2. Floors and Surfaces: remove obvious messes 3. Trash and Recycling: discard in the bins outside 4. Towels: leave in bathtubs or on bathroom floors 5. Bed Linens: we will strip the beds 6. Furniture and Items: Return to their places-place remotes on tables 7. Double check: you have all your items 8. Turn off: cooking appliances, lights, fans 9. Close and Lock: windows and doors

This will be the first year my wife and I will be managing these properties and are excited to welcome guests near and far. After visiting a few times in North Myrtle Beach, we couldn’t get enough of it. We needed a place in the best neighborhood here, Cherry Grove, and we hope our guests love it as much as we do. We look forward to continuing the great service and hospitality guests encountered with the previous owner, while building new and long lasting relationships with future guests.
