The bright Wooden Zen House is located in the bamboo garden connecting with nature and the inner soul. This guest home and surrounding make an ideal space for those needing a deeper contemplative state for creativity and recovering, or just a place to get away from the stress of a fast paced world. It is perfect for couples and solo adventurers who seek something special, and are attracted by simplicity and originality.
On request we prepare a vegan/vegetarian breakfast and a veggie daily meal.

The wooden Zen house is an ideal place to relax and/or to retreat. The tiny house covers approximately 20 square meters.
The studio consists a simply furnished open plan kitchenette and a living room with double bed (140×200cm) with an orthopedic mattress and a single loft bed. Please let us know in advance if you want to use the loft bed.
If the weather is fine, you can take your meals open air under the transparent canopy.
As outdoor shower and outdoor WC are attached, you have to go outside (about 5 m) to use it.
Our simple, but efficient self constructed solar water heating system will transform the sunlight into renewable energy for water heating. This sustainable energy system is designed to deliver hot water for the most of the year. On cooler days or during the winter you could use the gasheater for the shower.
In the colder season the wood stove will create a homely atmosphere. The wood for the woodburner will be charged based on consumption.
You will enjoy a fantastic view through the window into the garden with mountains in the background. During the summer the paved floor in front of the house is perfect for a personal yoga or meditation practice or relax on the sun loungers.
WLAN is available and included in the price.
Because we want to avoid that cars drive on our property, you have to walk the last 70 meters from the parking lot at our quinta to the house.
Laundry service at Quinta Bamboo is possible and there is a washing center in Tábua.
We have 2 bicycles to rent.

We are located in the Center of Portugal by Póvoa de Midões, near Tábua and Carregal do Sal (approx 8km) between Lisbon and Porto about 60 km from Coimbra.
In our village, Póvoa de Midões (approx 800mt from our farm) you will find a little supermarket (mini mercado), three cafes/bars, one bakery/pastery, and a hairdresser. In the center of the village you will find a children's playground.
From Quinta Bamboo close by you can visit beautiful and exciting places in the region.
The oscillating rock in Póvoa de Midoes with an amazing view over the Mondego river, also called Penedo C'abana, is an important monument in the area.
One of the most unique natural resources of the protected landscape area of the "Serra do Açor" is the cascade "Fraga da Pena"/35km.
40km from our place you can hike in the "Serra da Estrela", the highest mountain range in Continental Portugal(1993m) which is formed from a huge granite ridge.
There is a fresh, charming and relaxing place for a walk, 45km from our place, this is Forest "Serra do Buçaco" with its wonderful flora and biodiversity.
Coimbra, the traditional university city with remarkable architectural monuments and art treasures you arrive in 50 min.
Figueira da Foz (103km away) this old port town is one of the most popular seaside resorts of Portugal’s west coast with its long and wide fine sandy beaches.

hello, we are Martina and Bernd. We are living with our daughter Zsa Zsa in the heart of Portugal and try to realize our idea of a healthy and happy life in nature.

Since 20 years we work on our farm with an organic garden, food forest and bamboo garden. We want to do our best to inspire others to protect and preserve the natural world by living a simpler, greener lifestyle and we invite our guests to enjoy products from our garden.

We run a small business with a guest house, apartment and a wooden zen house.
The guesthouse is to rent as a complete house or partially as an apartment. It was once an old granite stone house and has been extended and renovated by us with traditional and modern eco-friendly materials.
The wooden zen house was designed and build by us according to the idea of the Japanese Zen minimalism.
Our 2 hectares boast natural bamboo, olive and fruit trees, the ideal surroundings for those who enjoy nature at its best. You can relax and take in the beautiful surroundings or take part in some of our arranged activities.
As we are the founders and organizers of the Academy of Marcial Arts & Yoga, Tábua (DOYO) where we give ongoing local courses, we offer the possibility of daily personalized yoga practice at our farm. It is also possible to train Taekwon-Do and Wing Chun Kung Fu, as we are qualified masters and teachers.
