We will learn all about iberian "pata negra" ham's world. The origin, where, and how. What makes the Iberian ham so special? How do you identify it? How is it cured and cut? These and other questions are answered as we taste ham from different curation periods and regions. I will explain you our shop history , since 1.919 , the oldest on Madrid.

We will meet in Plaza Isabel II, under the statue. This is a centrally located spot, where the Opera metro station stop is. We will start with a Spanish breakfast to have a bit of energy buzz! What better way than a special treat of traditional chocolate & churros? From there, no excuses to be tired now; we will explore the iconic Plaza Mayor and its area. Including a visit to the San Miguel market, one of the first gourmet markets of Spain. I will show you one of my favourite hidden gems, a convent from the XVI century where you can still today buy homemade cookies from the nuns! Then, we will head to the La Latina neighbourhood, an important area to understand better Madrid. We will stop at the local market, where after learning about the Spanish seasonal products, we will do a wine & cheese tasting! Did you know Spain is the second country for the production of wine in the World? Now, it's time to explore El Rastro flea-market area and the Lavapiés neighbourhood. We will walk along with it, including seeing some hidden gems no many people know about before ending in the Market of Anton Martin with a glass of cava and a tapa! We will then end in the heart of Barrio de las Letras. Other things to note: I will cater for food allergies & diet requirements (Vegetarians & Gluten-free won't have any problems). Visit 2 wineries of the Wines of Madrid Denomination of Origin and learn about their wines from their oenologists and winemakers. Taste at least 6 wines including red, white, and rosé, and learn about winemaking techniques that fuse tradition and innovation. Just 40 minutes from the center of Madrid, we will visit the Castilian countryside dotted with olive groves and vineyards interspersed with cereal fields and medieval towns such as Chinchón or Colmenar de Oreja that treasure a great historical heritage. The DO Vinos de Madrid has been producing great wines with national and international projection for more than 30 years. Wines with a personality of grapes such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah or Malvar, easy to drink, complex after refining in oak barrels and reflecting the character of the land. Nuestra inmersión en la cultura toledana empezara con una caminata a través de los miradores con las mejores panorámicas de la ciudad, caminaremos por sus mágicas calles, pasearemos maravillados por su impresionante arquitectura y ascenderemos hasta la mayor fortaleza de la ciudad; allí tomaremos una pausa para disfrutar de un snack. Continuaremos nuestro recorrido al segundo destino que será la ciudad de Segovia, patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO; al llegar haremos una pausa para que puedas comer tranquilo y sin prisas ya que os aseguramos que en nuestra aventura la idea es que podáis disfrutar. Después de la comida conoceremos el acueducto romano, subiremos hasta su parte mas alta e iremos a explorar una de las fortalezas medievales mas importantes de España, el majestuoso Alcázar. Our tour starts in the historical centre of Madrid, in Plaza de la Villa, wherefrom we will explore and walk our way around the many centuries of Spain's capital. We will piece its history together, dating back to the 9th century of the Muslim Kingdom of Spain all the way to the Bourbon Dynasty who managed to build the largest palace in western Europe. We will unlock the history behind Madrid's Cathedral and discover how the Catholic Church has become celiac-friendly, and admire the colourful murals and stained glass that give our modern cathedral a welcoming vibe. As we approach the palace, we will see some remnants of the first Arabic wall originally built to protect the city and serve the people of Madrid diligently for two centuries. Skipping the line, we will then make our way into the palace, discover each distinctly decorated room, explore the collection of Stradivarius violins, and uncover the secrets within the Royal Chapel. We will then explore the Royal Palace, where we can explore fascinating architecture and legends and gossip within each distinct room, which drove the 18th Century Madrileños wild and still manages to shock listeners today.

We'll meet at Madrid's Plaza Mayor and stroll through the winding streets of the medieval center, visiting architectural gems and charming squares. As a specialist in Renaissance history, I'll tell you about Madrid's fascinating transition from a fortified medieval outpost to the regal capital of a global empire. We'll discuss kings, queens, writers, and local figures, giving you the context to appreciate Madrid's history and it's place in the world. I'll also share my perspective as a resident of modern Madrid - a vibrant city with a world-class scene for arts and gastronomy. La aventura inicia en Madrid en coche, el grupo será máx 8 y mín 2 personas para hacer la experiencia, la idea es que sea una experiencia cercana y algo privada, asi será mas orgánica, tal como una salida de amigos que van a explorar. En la 1ra parada haremos una pequeña ruta de senderismo de aproximadamente 2,5 Km total desde la base de la montaña con una pendiente de unos 45° de inclinación de 900 metros para llegar a las imponentes Cárcavas, un monumento natural del cual solo existen 2 en España. También veremos el antiguo embalse del rio Lozoya. La 2da parada será el pintoresco Pueblo de Patones considerado uno de los ¨Pueblos Negros de Madrid¨, un lugar mágico que te dejara fascinado desde el primer momento, aquí haremos una pausa de 1 hora 1/2 para comer libremenete en recomendaciones de los restaurantes del pueblo si asi lo desea. Posteriormente, empezaremos a caminar por sus calles icónicas por ser de piedra de pizarra al igual que todas las estructuras del pueblo, sentirás un ambiente de paz y relajación que te transportaran a otros tiempos a medida que te voy contando sobre su interesante historia y como logro sobrevivir durante todo este tiempo. Y antes de partir a Madrid, degustaremos una copa de vino local incluida en cualquiera de las terrazas de la zona.
